Eamonn Martin (born 9 October 1958 in Basildon, Essex) is a former elite long distance runner from England. The most recent British male winner of the London Marathon, he ran 02:10:50 to win the 1993 race in a sprint finish against the Mexican athlete Isidro Rico. That race was Martin’s debut marathon. He went on to win the Chicago Marathon in 1995 (2:11:18). As a junior, Eamonn Martin won a national title at the English schools cross-country championships in 1973 ahead of runner-up Steve Ovett. He went on to compete at the top level in track, cross country, and road racing. He won the 10,000 metres at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in a time of 28:08.56. He was the National Cross-Country Champion in 1984 and 1992, he won the Belfast International Cross Country race in 1991, and he is the current English Cross-Country team manager. Martin had disappointing races at the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympics, finishing thirteenth in the 1984 Olympic 5000-metre final and dropping out of the 1988 Olympic 10,000-metre final (see, for example, "The Big Olympic Book" / Suuri Olympiateos, volumes 4 and 6, published in Finland in 1984 and 1988, respectively).
